Kasteel Ruurlo is a stunning 14th-century castle located in the wooded Achterhoek region of the Netherlands. In addition to being one of the most beautiful castles in The Netherlands, the castle has also been the setting of the work and life of great modern realistic artist Carel Willink since 2017. The castle has the largest collection of Carel Willink’s paintings, alongside magnificent gowns worn by his famous muse, Mathilde Willink.

These two special locations aim to manage the collection, an important part of our national cultural heritage, for future generations and to make it permanently accessible to a wide audience. Museum MORE wants to promote the appreciation for Dutch realistic top art.
The emphasis is on 20th century and contemporary art. In addition to their own collection, Museum MORE in Gorssel also offers temporary exhibitions that show the infinitely rich spectrum of realistic art.
