Cheese carriers who transport stretchers with no less than 160 kilos of cheese. The colourful hats of the cheese bearers, the hand clap of the cheese traders and the vibrant surrounding market make a visit to the <a href=\"http:\/\/designjaap.com\/?page_id=78848\">Alkmaar<\/a> cheese market and is&nbsp; one of the country&#8217;s most popular tourist attractions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Alkmaar has many medieval buildings that are still intact, most notably the tall tower of the&nbsp;Grote of Sint-Laurenskerk. The other main attraction, especially in the summer months, is Alkmaar&#8217;s cheese market at the Waagplein.
