It is located along the river&nbsp;Vecht&nbsp;at the southern end of the&nbsp;Vechtstreek.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"http:\/\/designjaap.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Slot-Zuylen-DSC_1252-2-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-62610\" srcset=\"https:\/\/designjaap.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Slot-Zuylen-DSC_1252-2-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/designjaap.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Slot-Zuylen-DSC_1252-2-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/designjaap.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Slot-Zuylen-DSC_1252-2-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/designjaap.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Slot-Zuylen-DSC_1252-2-83x55.jpg 83w, https:\/\/designjaap.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Slot-Zuylen-DSC_1252-2.jpg 1440w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><a href=\"http:\/\/designjaap.com\/?page_id=62283\">Zuylen Castle<\/a><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The castle was originally built in the 13th century by lord&nbsp;van Suilen en Anholt&nbsp;as a simple&nbsp;donjon. In 1422 during the&nbsp;Hook and Cod wars&nbsp;the castle was completely demolished. In 1510 rebuilding started. In 1752 the castle was modified for the last time. It holds a tapestry by the Delft&nbsp;carpet&nbsp;weaver Maximiliaan van der Gught.
