It is famous for its unique trullo buildings. The trulli of Alberobello have been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1996. <a href=\"https:\/\/designjaap.com\/?page_id=150649\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"150649\">Alberobello<\/a> is one of I Borghi pi\u00f9 belli d&#8217;Italia (&#8220;The most beautiful villages of Italy\u201d).Alberobello is the only inhabited centre with an entire district of trulli, and is considered to be the cultural capital of the trulli of the Itria Valley.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"684\" src=\"https:\/\/designjaap.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/Alberobello-31-07-2022-DSC_7856--1024x684.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-150686\" srcset=\"https:\/\/designjaap.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/Alberobello-31-07-2022-DSC_7856--1024x684.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/designjaap.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/Alberobello-31-07-2022-DSC_7856--300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/designjaap.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/Alberobello-31-07-2022-DSC_7856--768x513.jpg 768w, https:\/\/designjaap.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/Alberobello-31-07-2022-DSC_7856-.jpg 1444w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><a href=\"https:\/\/designjaap.com\/?page_id=150649\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"150649\">trulli of Alberobello<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The history of the <em>trulli<\/em> is linked to the Prammatica De Baronibus, an edict of the 15th-century Kingdom of Naples that subjected every new settlement to a tribute. In 1481 the Counts of Conversano D&#8217;Acquaviva D&#8217;Aragona from 1481, owners of the territory of Alberobello, then imposed on the residents that they built their dwellings dry, without using mortars, so that they could be configured as precarious buildings and easily demolished.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Having to use only stones, the peasants found in the round form with self-supporting domed roof the simplest configuration.
