Riquewihr looks today more or less as it did in the 16th century. It is located on the Route des Vins (The Wines Road), close to Colmar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/designjaap.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Riquewihr-DSC_6141-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-65497\" srcset=\"https:\/\/designjaap.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Riquewihr-DSC_6141-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/designjaap.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Riquewihr-DSC_6141-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/designjaap.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Riquewihr-DSC_6141-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/designjaap.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Riquewihr-DSC_6141-83x55.jpg 83w, https:\/\/designjaap.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Riquewihr-DSC_6141.jpg 1440w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><a href=\"https:\/\/designjaap.com\/?page_id=34193(opent in een nieuwe tab)\">Riquewihr<\/a> <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/designjaap.com\/?page_id=34193(opent in een nieuwe tab)\">Riquewihr<\/a> is 11 kilometres  from <a href=\"https:\/\/designjaap.com\/?page_id=34122(opent in een nieuwe tab)\">Colmar<\/a> and close to other Alsatian villages such as Ribeauvill\u00e9, Hunawihr, <a href=\"https:\/\/designjaap.com\/?page_id=34138(opent in een nieuwe tab)\">Eguisheim<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/designjaap.com\/?page_id=34156(opent in een nieuwe tab)\">Kaysersberg<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Originally the property of the Dukes of W\u00fcrttemberg, the town was converted to Protestantism in the 16th century. Historically, Riquewihr served as a Winzerdorf or &#8220;wine village&#8221; as a trading hub for Alsatian and German wine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/designjaap.com\/?page_id=34193(opent in een nieuwe tab)\">Riquewihr<\/a> was one of the few towns in the area not to be badly damaged during World War II.
